Yes, iCall really is free.
Some users have expressed concern that the party they call may be billed for the call. It is important to clarify that placing a call to somebody's telephone using iCall is NOT similar to a collect call.
The only way that one of your friends or family could be charged for a call is if their telephone provider charges them "per minute" for calls that they receive (such as with a cell phone).
